If he says, he loves you and he is willing to fix your relationship, then take the chance. Do what you ought to do to save your relationship. If this does not work and the problem turns on a cycle, then let him go. You will have no regrets as you did all you can for your relationship. As long as you understand him and give all the affection, he needs, even if you separate ways you will have a peace of mind in the end.
